If you have questions on ape, you may use one of the followings:
- Send your query to the r-sig-phylo mailing list. In many cases you will receive very useful advice from other users or pointers to other packages. If you report a bug, the archiving system of the mailinglist allows a follow-up of an eventual fix.
- Write directly to the author(s) of the function(s) you are using.
In any case, do not address your queries about ape to the R Core Team or to the CRAN Team.
